Dear Julie,

I am deeply sorry if this story

Would elicit painful memories

But in it is a lesson to share

A great lesson to keep throughout life

Losing a son six months old

A loss of pain untold

For a mother it was too much

Even worse for you were helpless

Standing by that hospital bed

Watching as his life wasted

Stood there as he went lifeless

Loved him to the point he was breathless

A billion questions directed to none

In your mind had pitched camp

Torn between blaming yourself and asking God WHY?

The loss of a soul so young so much to bear

The pain so overwhelming

Suicidal thoughts in your mind

Not because you wanted to die

But just to be with young Mwaura

Doubts accompanied the pain

A stern inquiry into God’s will

A hazy understanding of life’s purpose

Uchungu wa mwana aujuaye mama

Yet through the pain there was hope

Beyond the sorrow shone a beam

A reminder by your daughter through faith

A hope of reunion in resurrection through Christ

Your worries and pain so devasating

Yet in all that you were reminded of this

The essence of true Christian belief and faith

with your husband you took a leap of faith

In your renewed hope another trial awaited

The gynecologist’s report left you shattered

As a mother, wife and a Christian your heart was tattered

Yet the surgery ended it all you walked out unaltered

The ‘I want to live’ statement did it all

Guided the path that brought the other two sons

The unwavering zeal to go back to work

The ideal strength of a God-fearing lady

The struggle painful and stressing to the core

Family, profession and religion all pressing

At the height of the distress you were almost cursing

Little did you know the sorrows were blessings in disguise?

On the operation bed you gasped for air

The breath of life without despair

Soon upon Christ’s return we’ll soar

To our real home peaceful and fair

The pain from the loss never tore you apart

Like the mustard seed with a meagre start

It prepared you for the most crucial part

To withstand everything and come out smart

Yours is an excellent story

That helps us witness God’s glory

The painful experience a testimony

That God is always with us in this journey

your faith solid as rock,I adore

That even in pain and loss you stood

Had the strength to hold the family in shock

Believed in God to do his good

Understanding God’s will brought you harmony

Accepting the outcome sowed in you hope

Gave you the courage to watch and pray

Redirected your dreams redefined your purpose

Praying for God’s blessings

Upon you and your family

That though the devil crafts his ways

You remain firm and rejoice finally

And yes you have the best voice

That has spoken to many here below

That peaceful life on earth is no choice

In heaven you’ll sing without sorrow

An epitomeof success you are

Success deeply rooted in unwavering faith in Christ

A living testimony of a relentless princess

Who gave up no hope even upon great test

#GodBlessYoujulie

May you continue to inspire and touch lives.
